Start by laying out all of the required parts. One thing that may catch you out and that is not mentioned in the manual are the plastic feet which are needed to be inserted into the fan so that the brackets can reach the fan. Everything required can be found in the cooling box and the bag contained within, along with pack D of the fixings.
Prepare the fan brackets first by taking the M6 bolts with square section and inserting them into the square holes at the end of the brackets. This may be a little tight, it if is employ the rubber mallet and a vice to hammer them into position.
Now take the fan and insert the feet into the fan to enable brackets to fit properly.
Now offer up the brackets and you should find they fit the fan fine. Attach using washers/nuts as per build manual.Note the orientation – there are a couple of flat sections on the rim of the fan. These need to be at the top and bottom, not the side.
Now take the main steel brackets and attach them to the car
Attach the bobbins and nuts to the above, so you have four threads waiting for the fan to be added. Add the fan.
Once done, you can offer up the radiator to the four bobbins also and get that on. Make sure that you have the nuts and washers to hand, you donĀ“t want to leave the radiator resting on the bobbins unsecured and have it slip off! There was no obvious up/down orientation on the radiator that I could see.
