Did the first service today – June 3rd 2021
This service is listed as 1000 miles/3 months. I passed the IVA in November, but didn’t drive on the road until March. May was terrible weather wise, but still managed to put 650 miles on the car by the time I got it to Caterham Silverstone who were very good. It took around 2 hours to carry out and I booked about a month in advance. While I bought the kit from Williams near Bristol, and they were great, Silverstone is much closer to me for ongoing servicing etc.
This service is really more of a safety check to make sure everything has settled in fine on the car. Check torque on front suspension, all fluids, light alignment etc. All details in the service book. Total cost was 195 GBP. I paid an extra 20 GBP to get some lubricant on the back of the front brake pads to stop them squeaking at low speed – this wasn’t an issue on open roads but going through towns it was annoying and around animals like horses it could get a bit dodgy and made me feel quite uncomfortable, so glad to have that sorted.
Next service is a more substantial 12 Month Service which is due June 2022.
Car is great. Lots of fun. Worth every penny and all the effort to build.
